European Program "Identity Move"

The National School of Dance is proud to host the Kick-off Meeting for the European Union funded multicenter Project IDENTITY. MOVE!, from the 26th until the 28th of September. During these three days, guests from 14 countries will gather to discuss issues in regard to contemporary dance which concern the theory and practice of this art form.

IDENTITY.MOVE! offers a transnational platform for theoretical and applied research in the field of contemporary dance and related performing arts focusing on the “Eastern Belt” of the European Union ( Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia). IDENTITY.MOVE! is a cooperation project coordinated by Goethe-Institut Warsaw in collaboration with Centre for Culture in Lublin, Obcanske Sdruzeni Motus in Prague and the National School of Dance in Athens with the support of the Culture Programm of the European Union

The National School of Dance participates in the program Identity. Move! in  its dula role as an educational and an artistic centre of excellence, which also has a performing arm in its dance group, the Hellenic Dance Company.  The Hellenic Dance Company was launched 12 years ago, by the  Director of the School, Mrs. Pavlina Veremi. The group not only upholds the highest standards in dancing technique and choreography but also offers high calibre performances which have earned it a prominent position and reputation in the Greek art scene.
